Here, the final chapter in the Lord of the Rings trilogy Frodo and Sam make it to Mordor, but not without hardship. The rest of the fellowship are reunited only to be seperated again, then meet up again at the battle for Minas Tirith. Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas enlist the help of the undead army. By far, this is the best of the films. The extra footage really helps complete the story in this one, stretching to 4 hours 10 minutes! That makes the total time for the extended edition trilogy a wopping 11 hours 15 minutes!!!

The first of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic novels translated to the big screen, this is an awesome movie. In this third of the story, a young hobbit named Frodo Baggins is left his uncle's possesions including a seemingly simple gold ring. He travels to the city of the Elves for help and creates a fellowship made up of representatives from each race in Middle Earth. They set out to destroy the ring which is linked to the evil lord Sauron who was once defeated by cutting the ring off his hand. This movie ends as the fellowship is broken up by an attack by Uruk 'ai.

I first saw this movie with my dad at the IMAX theater in Burlington at the Jordan's furniture. That day was Erin's bridal shower so she hadn't seen it yet. We bought it the other day since it had just come out on sale. I liked it a lot, it was funny and since it wasn't Disney it wasn't all sappy and tear-jerking like they all are. Also there wasn't some moral stuffed down your throat at the end; now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of Disney movies that I thoroughly enjoy.

This movie follows the escapades of a young inventor robot named Rodney Copperbottom who leaves his parents to pursue his dream of meeting this famous inventor named Bigweld. There are some really cool scenery elements, be sure to watch for the mode of transport that appears just after Rodney makes it to Rivet Town; here's a hint, it's a lot like the perpetual motion machine at the Science Museum in Boston.

In Good Company

Cast:

Dennis Quaid - Dan Foreman
Topher Grace - Carter Duryea
Scarlett Johansson - Alex Foreman
Marg Helgenberger - Ann Foreman
David Paymer - Morty
Clark Gregg - Mark Steckle
Philip Baker Hall - Eugene Kalb
Selma Blair - Kimberly

Rating: B+
A movie about a magazine ad salesman who gets demoted when the magazine is bought by a conglomerate. His new boss (Topher Grace) then finds himself smitten with the older mans college-aged daughter. This creates some tension between the "old-timer" and the new young boss. There are enough funny parts to keep you going, but otherwise it's a run-of-the-mill romantic comedy drama movie. I thought it was ok, but it will be a while before I watch it again and I don't intend on owning it. If you have a rainy day and need something to do this wouldn't be bad.

This movie was actually really funny. I was laughing constantly. I haven't seen the original but it's on my list of upcoming rentals. This story i about an ex-MVP quarterback that gets arrested for "stealing" his girlfriend's car (Courtney Cox) and then leading the cops on a drunken chase ending in the totalling of her car; a Bentley!

Rating: B+
I think that the first XXX movie with Vin Diesel was better, but this had some pretty intense action scenes. This one also mostly took place at night or underground where the lighting was darker; this made a lot of the movie hard to see what was going on. Some of the dialog is silly, but so was some in the first movie. Again the plot is mostly unbelievable, a high-ranking general (the Defense Secretary) is planning to overthrow the president and a new XXX is brought in to stop him. Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Agent Augustus Gibbons and we also get to see some more cool gadgets from Agent Toby Lee Shavers.

The Transporter

Cast:

Jason Statham - Frank Martin
Qi Shu - Lai
François Berléand - Tarconi
Matt Schulze - Darren 'Wall Street' Bettencourt

Rating: A
This movie was pretty cool, I had almost forgotten how cool it was so I rented it again after going to see the sequel in the movie theater last week. Frank is a Transporter, he takes things from one location to another for a price; he has rules; things get a little out of hand when he breaks his rules.

Transporter 2

Cast:

Jason Statham - Frank Martin
Alessandro Gassman - Gianni
Amber Valletta - Audrey Billings
Kate Nauta - Lola
Matthew Modine - Mr. Billings
Jason Flemyng - Dimitri
Keith David - Stappleton
Hunter Clary - Jack Billings
François Berléand - Tarconi

Rating: A
This movie is a good sequel to the first one. I found that the action was greater but the story was not as strong as the first one. This movie revolves around the driver, but this time instead of transporting things like money and goods, he's driving a kid around. The kid is the son of a powerful business man and the kid gets kidnapped. The driver goes on a tear to go after the kidnappers and get the kid back. There's a seperate twist and motivation for him to find the kid and get the kidnappers, but I'll let you find that out when you see the movie.
